01Getting Started
Why should I hire you?
This is a great question and one I don’t answer lightly. I know that hiring me, or any coach for that matter, can be quite an investment. I want to quickly share why hiring me not only saves you frustration and time, but also money.
Research indicates that less than half of people who start a new health behavior maintain it within a year. When people had professional support, they were much more successful — and that support is precisely what I provide, with weekly check-ins and monthly virtual discussions.
In addition, I don’t just help you with health behavior changes — I also handle your training and nutrition programming. I have advanced degrees in public health, exercise physiology, and nutrition. And if you do bodybuilding competitions, I’m a professional natural bodybuilder too. Working with me is like getting three coaches in one, which not only helps you achieve your goals more cost-effectively but accelerates your ability to reach them and streamlines your journey.
How do I get started working with you?
Just reach out via email. Let me know which service you’re interested in and I’ll get back to you to get you set up.
If you’re not entirely sure which program is right for you, that’s completely fine — contact me and we’ll set up a free 15-minute consultation to help you make the best choice for your situation.
02The Process
Once I've paid for the service I want, what are the next steps?
Depending on which service you purchase, here’s how it unfolds:
- I will send you comprehensive intake forms to capture all the information I need to craft your individualized nutrition and training programs.
- We meet virtually for 30 minutes to review the forms together and answer all your questions.
- Once your program is created, we meet virtually for 30–50 minutes to walk through it together.
How long should I expect to be working with you?
This depends on your goals and the information you provide on your intake forms. At a minimum, you’ll be working with me for at least a month — but most clients continue longer because they’re excited by the results they’re achieving.
If you’re planning to compete in a bodybuilding competition, you should plan to work with me for at least six months to ensure you have enough time to prepare properly.
Once I get started, what's the process for follow-up?
After your training and nutrition programming is in place:
- You’ll fill out a comprehensive coaching data sheet — and provide photos as needed — so I can confirm you’re on track to reach your goal.
- We’ll also have a monthly 30–50-minute virtual discussion to review progress, address questions, and adjust the plan as needed.
03Programs
Are the programs a one-size-fits-all?
Absolutely not. We work as a team and use an evidence-based approach to craft every facet of your training and nutrition programs around your needs, preferences, and goals.
We also regularly review where you started, where you are currently, and continually set new goals for your success — which keeps you on track and ensures you stay inspired every step of the way.
What is the Lifestyle Nutrition & Training program?
This program is for anyone interested in improving their physique and overall health — no competition required. It focuses on increasing your energy levels, reducing body fat, adding muscle, improving your workouts and nutrition, and enhancing your overall health for the long term.
What's the difference between Off-Season/Pre-Season and Contest Prep/Post-Show programming?
The off-season/pre-season program is designed for bodybuilding contest recovery, building muscle, injury recovery (note: I don’t provide physical therapy or sports medicine treatment), correcting asymmetries, and fixing imbalances — creating the physique you want before you begin to prepare for a competition.
The contest prep/post-show program is a much more rigorous process: maintaining the muscle built in the off-season while chiseling away excess body fat to bring out your best physique on stage. Post-competition, the goal shifts to increasing calories and body fat levels to help you recover from your show and prime your physique for a productive off-season.
What if I've never done a bodybuilding competition before?
No prior competition experience needed — in fact, this is the ideal situation. Starting fresh means we can build the right foundation from day one.
I’ll walk with you step-by-step through the entire process — from building your physique in the off-season to stepping on stage — taking all the guesswork out of achieving your best package at your first competition.
04Training
Do I need a personal trainer in addition to working with you?
If you need help learning how to perform the recommended exercises correctly, you have a couple of options:
- Work with me virtually — I can coach you on exercise execution through video review and real-time feedback.
- If you’re in the San Diego region, I may be able to meet with you one-on-one to work through exercises in person.
